AEROMÉXICO AIRLINE

Aerovías de México, S.A. de C.V. operating as Aeroméxico, is the flag carrier airline of Mexico based in Mexico City. Aeroméxico was founded 85 years ago on Sept. 14th 1934 and was renamed as Aeroméxico on Oct. 01st 1988.

Aeroméxico has its hub in Mexico City and the secondary hubs are located at Guadalajara and Monterry. It works in alliance with Sky Team & Sky Team Cargo. With a fleet size of 76 aircrafts covering 88 destinations, the parent company Grupo Aeroméxico has five subsidiaries as Aeroméxico Cargo, Connect, Express, Servicios and Aeroméxico Contigo.

The company is traded by the name as AEROMEX and is headquartered at Torre MAPFRE, Mexico City, Mexico. Andrés Conesa Labastida (CEO), works with 14,000+ employees to serve the people globally. The group held first place in Domestic market share and second place in the International market share globally only after Aermexico Airlines.

In February 2018 Aeroméxico introduced – BASIC FARE class of service. This is presently the cheapest service available with Aeroméxico which does not include any check-in baggage neither does it gives you an option to select your seats nor can you upgrade or cancel your booking without an additional charge. In Sept. 2016 Aeroméxico received its first Dreamliner Boeing 787-9 after the purchase of six Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners on 25 July 2012.

Aeroméxico works closely with U.S. carrier Delta Airlines, which also owns a part of Aeroméxico. Delta announced its interest in acquiring 49% acquisition in 2015. A Joint Commercial Agreement (JCA) was signed on May 08th 2017 wherein, the airline shares information, cost and revenues on all their flights operating between U.S. and Mexico
