Virgin Atlantic, the trading name of Virgin Atlantic Airways Limited and Virgin Atlantic International Limited, is a British airline headquartered in Crawley, United Kingdom. The airline was founded in 1984 as British Atlantic Airways and its co-founders Randolph Fields and Alan Hellary initially intended to fly between London and the Falkland Islands. Soon after altering the name to Virgin Atlantic Airways, it started operating internationally.
Virgin Atlantic utilizes a blended fleet of large-scale Airbus and Boeing aircraft and works in North America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East and Asia from its main base in London and its secondary base in Manchester. The airline also runs seasonal flights from Glasgow to Belfast. Virgin Atlantic aircraft consists of three cabins: Economy, Premium and Upper Class.
